Dolly Sods feels like another world. Resting along the Eastern Continental Divide, this wild landscape is known for brutal weather, snow in every month of the year, and vegetation more like the Canadian tundra than a West Virginia forest. I took my dad there for the first time in his 63 years, and he was blown away. Not only did he witness the rugged beauty of this West Virginia wonder, but he saw the Milky Way under a truly dark sky for the very first time.
