This image showcases Sh2-119, also known as the Clamshell Nebula, a relatively uncommon target in astrophotography located in the constellation Cygnus. The nebula is an emission region shaped by the powerful stellar winds of the massive star HD 206267, which sculpt the surrounding hydrogen gas into its distinctive shell-like structure. This image was created using 27 hours of narrowband data captured with an L-Ultimate filter, complemented by less than 2 hours of RGB data for natural star colors. The composition highlights the intricate interaction between massive stars and the interstellar medium within this fascinating region of our galaxy.
