  • Although the camera reveals a starry night sky with vibrant aurora above the Royal Pavilion in Brighton, to the naked eye there were only a few of the very brightest stars visible. The colours of the aurora were also impossible to see, overwhelmed by the light streaming into the sky from the Pavilion and surrounding city. The light from the Royal Pavilion was so bright compared with the night sky it was necessary to capture a few 'darker' exposures to display the brightest parts of the photo.
